When you start to bookmark everything you do online, here is a few of the main sites that you should be using:

1. Digg - this site is for people to submit stories that they find on the internet. When other people like your story, they digg it. The more diggs a story gets, the higher it is ranked. 3. Stumble upon - Bookmarking or telling people which web sites that you stumble upon and think are interesting.

4. Del.icio.us - high authority bookmarking site with a large community

when you are bookmarking be sure to add the correct tags to your bookmarks. This will guarantee that they are seen and will increase links to your site. When adding tags, be sure to pay attention to the format that the site uses.
The two most common formats are comma separated and space separated. Make sure you follow the correct format so you get the full benefit of each bookmark.

Bookmarking your sites manually can be very time consuming. Here are two tools that will help you make the process go a little faster.

6 Secret Traffic Strategies

by: Dora Tarver
Building a website is not all you need to do. Once you have a site you need to know how to drive traffic to the site. The following are 6 traffic strategies that you can apply to immediately drive targeted traffic to your website. Learn how to transform your site quickly and easily.

The key to succeeding in any internet related business is traffic. So then, how do you get visitors to flow to your site? Driving customers, clients, or readers to make your website a place that they regularly visit is really not hard to do. Driving traffic does not just happen on its own. You need to plan and execute the plan to make it happen.

1. Consider visiting other sites that are similar to yours. Visit the blog or forum of these sites and post a message with a back link to your site. A back link is simply the URL (address) or your site. Needless to say you need to put the back link in the context of a short sentence or message. If the site allows you to have a signature, then add a link to your site in your signature.

2. Create a blog with a RSS feed that notifies subscribers whenever you have updated information. Then create new content in your blog regularly. You will find that others will begin to link to you from their own pages and list you as a valuable source of information.

3. Start with Free traffic techniques and then graduate to paid traffic. Makes sense? Common sense will make you successful sooner! Traffic exchanges can quickly bring in a lot of traffic. There are plenty of good free traffic resources. Consider using Traffic Swarm. Open a free account or sign up as a pro. I started with a free account then graduated to pro. Pro will allow you to gain more points sooner and benefit from your downline.

4. SEO mean Search Engine Optimization and is one of the best things you can do for your business. SEO will help you generate targeted traffic for your website. Targeted traffic means that the people that visit your website will actually be looking for what you have to offer! Techniques like keyword density within paragraphs as well as keyword placement within the title of the webpage, Meta tags and the bolding, underline and italicizing of keywords within the webpage are a few of the SEO techniques that will impact traffic to your site. You may learn more about this at enlightenedsource.org

5. Use safe linking practices. Set up linking arrangements that appear natural. You only want to link to site related to your keywords and target market. Just having links is not what you want to do. In fact you will be penalized for just having links. It is not the number of links that matter. What matters is if the sites you link to be related to your site and that those site you link to have a rank of 3 or higher.

6. Good site content is very important. Search engines love content, and so do your visitors! Fresh content will keep your visitors coming back to your website at their own will and you’ll naturally get higher results at search engines.

Tip'd: A Repeat Of Digg?

Tip'd was went online this week. For those who are not familiar with this site, it was put together by one of the heavy hitters on Digg, msaleem. He, along with a couple of anonymous business people, started a Digglike site to focus upon business articles. This seems like a viable model and one that I hope to see work.

There are a couple of problems with Digg. The most obvious is that facist attitude they took in banning many people. Many feel they were unfairly prosecuted when they did nothing against the TOS. Also, the fact that most of the heavy hitters were left untouched when there is evidence they engaged in behavior that got others banned show preferential treatment. Many posts on this site and others reflects people's anger at this.

The second area is the liberal slant on Digg. Some feel they were banned because of comments they put up in defense of moderate or conservative ideas. One look at the front page will instantly tell you how the site leans. At any given time the front page is filled with anti McCain articles. Of course, there is not a single anti Obama one in site.

That is Digg. The point of this article is that Tip'd is offering a different beginning. Or is it? Msaleem, in an effort to get the site moving, tapped into many of his Digg friends. Will we see a repeat of Digg. I certainly hope not. But, these people cannot stop going to the sites that slant to the left. Sadly, they think it is business news.

The example that prompted this post was an attack on "Joe The Plumber". The left wing media is loving the game of uncovering dirt on this guy while discrediting him any way they can. That is what they do. However, for people to post this on Tip'd as business news is a repeat of Digg. I only hope that it does not go down the path. Unfortunately, since most are Digg retreads, this is not likely. The only hope is that the moderators stop this behavior off before it starts.

Stay tuned to see which route they take.

Diggstapo

http://trevorcrookblog.com/2008/10/12/diggstapo-the-term-for-social-medias-gestapo-called-wwwdiggcom/
The following article can be found at the above address

Wikipedia has a meaning for Gestapo Tactics and I have now termed a meaning for Diggstapo Tactics. Before I reveal this to you . . . a little of ToeCracker’s Digg History.

I joined digg in July 2007 and started to become an avid user in late November, digging around 300 stories per day, supporting my friends submissions, commenting and getting front pages stories . . . after making a shit load of mistakes etc.

Digg became like a drug, an addiction to the point, where yes, I was a diggaholic under the under name ToeCracker.

Back in March, I heard of a script which would allow me to digg faster, which from a time management perspective, made a shit load of sense. I also understood this script was part of Digg’s API and as I wasn’t digging anymore stories each day, simply taking back some of my valuable time, I used it.

I had dugg over 66,000 stories, over 1,000 comments and had 149 front page submissions at the time I got my ass banned Friday week ago . . . banned even though I had removed the script approx. 4 weeks earlier when the shit hit the fan and about 80-100 diggers got banned.

When I removed the script, I went back to the labor intensive task of digging the old way, hitting the link, speed reading the description, adding a comment and + others if I chose to. In the prior 4 weeks to getting banned, I had taken time off from nearly all social media to take some ‘ME’ time.

I had 2 short bursts on digg. The 2nd one, only 2 days before I was banned and the actual day before I was banned, I sat there for about an hour, catching up on my diggs to be met with the WARNING:

“Whoa their cowboy, itchy trigger, digging so fast is lame, how about you read some stories” and this pissed me off no end.

How piss weak is a site like digg, when you can digg too fast by hand, I mean What The Fuck! So, I sent an email to digg, asking them to explain why they can dictate to me the time it takes for me to read a description on a story and decide to digg/bury etc. Nothing I was doing was illegal and against their fucked up TOS.

As usual, digg didn’t reply. The next day I was banned without warning and when I emailed them 2 times, I was basically told to go fuck myself and that they suspected I had used a script and banned me, then they pointed me to 2 blog posts about scripts etc.

Their 2nd email suggested they would be going over power profiles logs and deciding if people would be banned.

I admitted to them my error in using a script, which I thought was in terms of their API etc. and as soon as I knew it wasn’t, I removed it. They simply banned me, like they have done to so many others and will continue to do so.

Life goes on and personally digg can go fuck themselves and it seems they are doing a very good job of this anyway . . . just ask Google.

TOECRACKER’S (Crackpedia) MEANING OF ‘DIGGSTAPO’ TACTICS:

“The Diggstapo has the authority to investigate treason, espionage and sabotage cases by way of script usage, and in cases of personal attacks on the Kevin Rose and his bum chums. A law passed by Kevin Rose gives the Diggstapo carte blanche to operate without judicial oversight.

The Diggstapo is specifically exempted from responsibility to administrate correct judgment, answer people with respect and to ban anyone’s ass from digg for absolutely ANY reason or even No reason at all.

The power of the Diggstapo most open to misuse is called ‘BanzingYourAss’ - a euphemism for the power to ban digg users without judicial proceedings or a chance to explain their case. The person banned – simply disappears from Digg without a trace under Diggstapo policy . . . although the Diggstapo team is well aware these banned diggers simply get a new IP address and create a new account where we only have one thing to say to the Diggstapo Team . . . FuckYouDiggstapo!

Life goes on and it has. I will simply do more Mixx, Stumble and Reddit.

Dedicated to kicking your ass until you succeed.

I am so glad that others are finally seeing digg for what it is, and I have a feeling that digg's days are fast becoming numbered, it is fading into the sunset and the way they are operating it seems less and less people are actually going to miss them.

Digging a Grave

Is digg dying a death ?

It seems that more and more are being banned and more and more of the submissions to this once great site are ‘repeats’ and things that were buried by the now banned members.

To be banned from digg all it takes is to open more than one link at a time, read them all and then digg them, you do not have to use a bot or a script, you do not have to do anything wrong as stated in their term except not follow like a sheep and click one story at a time and then wait an hour before you read the next, I have yet to work out how you can take 5 minutes looking at a picture, you open it, look at it, like or dislike it and move on, 1 minute tops !

I personally know of a family, 3 seperate members who were banned as they were told they were using a script or a bot as the activity on their account was ‘erratic’ They all work so they used to come onto dig at various times during the day, this it seems was classed as ‘erratic’. They also say that you have the right to appeal against a decision, again this is FALSE...... they will not enter into any discussion with a banned member, they have a stock email they send out and will not reconsider even when asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, here is a copy of the mail I received from them ...

Greetings from Digg.com,

We have found activity from your account showing the use of a
bot/script/macro to Digg stories, which is explicitly against the Terms of Service (digg.com/tos) you agreed to. The account has been banned permanently, and will not be reinstated.

Because we must be vigilant in protecting against activities that
compromise the Digg community, this decision is final and irreversible.

Thank you,

-Digg Support

How is this a discussion ? How is this proper and fair treatment ? As far as I can see its not, they are not prepared to listen to anyone and as such they are starting to dig a grave for themselves, how long before they bury themselves in the hole they are creating ?

What type of Friend are you ?

I am a member of Digg, and within that membership, I have 98 friends. I thought this was a nice number until I started to submit some things to the site. Now don’t take me wrong, I don’t flood the site with crap; I don’t post 10/15 per day. I just submit one possibly two a week, things that I find interesting and which I think others might as well. So where is the problem?

The problem lies in the fact that I spend my time on digg shouting and digging my ‘ friends’ submissions and shouts they send me, I look at things that interest me on the popular and upcoming sections, I basically do what I was under the impression one does when on a social site, yet when I submit and shout things, out of the 98 friends only 46 receive my shouts as the others have requested not to receive shouts. This is fair enough, but for some reason it doesn’t stop them sending me 5/10 shouts a day asking for Diggs and shares on their submission. It seems a bit one sided to me to be honest.

So what are you meant to do? Can someone explain the rules to me? Do I ignore the shouts and requests as mine are ignored? Do I add more friends hoping that if I have 200 then possibly 100 might digg my submissions? And why do you want to add friends if you have no intention of actually being a friend and helping a submission but sharing and digging. I am not saying Digg blindly but I am asking for a bit of consideration to those on your friend list. If you have no intention of actually being a friend, then remove yourself from their list; it saves everyone time and some considerable effort,,, oohh but wait if you did that then none of your submissions and requests would be answered would they.

Which category do you fit into? Are you a friend or are you a user? Is your profile switched off to receiving shouts? Only you will be able to answer that but look at how many times you have dugg a friends submissions and answered their shouts, that will give you a good indication, me... well I am a friend .
